Signal Processing and Information Theory
Third-year, second-semester course of the Bachelor's Program in Bioinformatics (6 ECTS)
The aim of this course is to provide the fundamentals of Information Theory and Signal Processing.
The main topics covered include: information and its measurement, information corruption, information coding, representation of information through physical signals and systems, information processing in the time and frequency domains.
The core of the course is to provide methodological tools that are particularly relevant to genomic signal processing, while also exploring the many ways in which signal processing and information theory can contribute to advancing our understanding of molecular biology.

Assessment method
- The exam consists of an oral exam focused on the content of the lectures and in-class exercises.
