Maria-Gabriella DI BENEDETTO

Wireless Access Networks

First-year, second-semester course of the Master's Program in Electronics Engineering (6 ECTS)

The Wireless Access course is designed to develop and impart theoretical knowledge on medium access mechanisms in wireless telecommunications systems, and their application in modern communication technologies such as 5G and beyond 5G. A key objective of the course is to cultivate design skills for access systems through mastery of the mathematical foundations essential for modeling wireless access—particularly the statistical theory of discrete-time random processes and queueing theory. Practical skills complement these theoretical components, enabling students to proficiently use simulation tools for performance analysis of complex wireless systems.
